I really like this quote because it says a lot of things some unsuccessful journalists have not come to understand. When it comes to an interview when someone is needed to confess, make sure they are comfortable about it because if they aren't, they could start a big controversy around the journalist. Our job is to confirm facts, not start scandals and other horrible things.

It is the first law for a reason, because it is one of, if not the, most important of the rules we try to abide by. Unfortunately now, society forgets that that is indeed our primary job, they just think we're trying to conjure up scandals outta thin air to screw over celebrities. And you're right about this is the reason why some journalists are unsuccessful.
